2026 Workshop Evening Activities
Online Workshop Participants are welcome to join us on campus or in Salt Lake City for the evening activities.
Guests are welcome to attend the evening activities on campus.
Tuesday Evening - Instructor Recital
Some of your workshop instructors will share some of their favorite organ pieces in this exciting recital on the Létourneau Concert Organ. You’ll hear a wide variety, and maybe even some that you’ll want to learn.
Wednesday Evening - Field Trip to Temple Square in Salt Lake City
We will gather Wednesday afternoon to travel to Salt Lake City for a demonstration of the Tabernacle organ on Temple Square
The field trip is always the highlight of the workshop for many of our participants. Don’t miss it!
Bus transportation may be purchased through our registration site. You are welcome to drive yourself and meet us there. (If there are no remaining bus reservations, please email organ@byu.edu to be placed on a waitlist.)
The Field Trip Schedule will be released at a later date.
Note - due to construction and organ maintenance on Temple Square, there will be no Open Console Experience this year.
Thursday Evening - Community Hymn Sing
In one of the week’s highlights, recently retired Dr. Don Cook will accompany an audience of workshop participants and community members in a wonderful program of hymns. He will apply hymn playing techniques that are often described during the workshop and taught through the Independent Study organ courses. This is a gold mine for ideas that you might consider for either a special cultural event, worship services, or even your own hymn sing.
