Susanna earned her master's degree in organ performance from the University of Utah where she studied with Linda Margetts. Following her graduation, she studied organ in Seattle with Carole Terry of the University of Washington.
Currently a guest organist on Temple Square, Susanna performs regularly in recital on the Tabernacle and Conference Center organs.
She participated in the Gothenburg International Organ Academy in Sweden featuring Bach and the Lutheran Legacy and Female Organists and Composers. There she performed works by J. S. Bach and studied with Hans Davidsson and William Porter from Eastman School of Music.
She reviewed harpsichord performance practice with early music harpsichordist Lisa Goode Crawford and harpsichord construction with Joel Speerstra at the University of Gothenburg.
A recipient of the Leroy Robertson fellowship, Susanna featured his works in recitals around Salt Lake Valley. Her final master’s recital included as an encore her own transcription of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen on which she consulted with Dutch jazz musician Bert van den Brink.
In addition to teaching organ lessons and classes through the preparatory division at the University of Utah, Susanna teaches a robust private studio of organ, piano, and conducting students. She also taught music classes for dancers and recently returned to play for Ballet West.
Susanna often performs with Salt Lake Choral Artists and the Choral Arts Society of Utah. She appeared in concert with Jenny Oaks Baker and Lux Singers. She recently collaborated with friend and colleague, Seth Bott to play a 4-hand organ accompaniment to Beethoven’s “Hallelujah” from Christ on the Mount of Olives.
She has performed throughout the United States and in Europe. And she is delighted to participate in the BYU summer organ workshops.
